The Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) is responsible for the design, delivery and maintenance of state infrastructure used to deliver essential and important services to the community, and for managing and developing transport networks and the service delivery that supports them within South Australia.

In November 2020, DIT commenced maintenance contracts with its service providers, divided into four zones covering 14,000 kilometres of sealed and 9,000 kilometres of unsealed roads across South Australia.

The four zones are:

  • Metropolitan Adelaide
  • Regional South
  • Regional North, and
  • Outback

In June 2023, following a competitive tender process, Asset Vision was awarded a contract with DIT for the provision of a maintenance management system (MMS) that will be used by the road maintenance directorate to order work from industry partners, and for surveillance officers to provide assurance over the work being undertaken across these four zones.

The South Australian government joins both the NSW and Victorian governments using Asset Vision to manage and monitor critical maintenance work on our roads. The Asset Vision platform provides a collaborative ecosystem where Government departments and their industry partners can work together to standardise work, share critical data, and ensure compliance to contracts and quality standards.

Our team is looking forward to working with DIT over the coming months.

Ventia has gone live with its implementation of Asset Vision for their Sydney Harbour Tunnel contract in NSW.

As part of the Sydney Orbital Network, the tunnel lets motorists cross from one side of Sydney Harbour to the other, linking the Warringah Freeway at North Sydney with the Cahill Expressway at the entrance to the Domain Tunnel in Sydney’s CBD.

Through a 15-year contract with the NSW Government, Ventia manages, owns and operates the Sydney Harbour Tunnel and its 2.3km of roadways. This includes a 960-metre immersed tube across the harbour, twin 900-metre land tunnels on the north shore and twin 400-metre land tunnels on the south shore.

A defect or issue in the tunnel would cause traffic chaos that would paralyse parts of Sydney and create headlines across the nation. Quick, accurate and responsive defect and asset management is a must.

Asset Vision is proud to be working with Ventia to maintain a full and detailed register of all of the Sydney Harbour Tunnel and to be powering the maintenance of the tunnel 365 days of the year.

In 2021 Ventia was awarded a contract by Brisbane Airport Corporation to provide asset management and maintenance services for pavement and roadside assets.

The Ventia team brought Asset Vision in to maintain over 100 kilometres of the airport’s landside and airside road networks across both Domestic and International terminals. The scope of services also included carparks, runways, taxiways, aprons and works during scheduled heavy maintenance shutdowns.

Such a complex mandate required the ability to visualise all the assets together in real-time and Asset Vision ensures seamless operations around the airport, and providing regular updates on any upgrades, defects and scheduled inspections.

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) in Western Australia has awarded Asset Vision a two-year contract for the provision of a Strategic Asset Information Management System and its related installation, configuration, data conversion/migration, implementation, training and ongoing support services. The establishment of the Strategic Asset Information Management System is a major deliverable from the DPRID Strategic Asset team to deliver under its business plan. Asset Management plays a critical role in underpinning the delivery of DPIRD’s service objectives in the Primary Industry Plan.

Western Australia’s primary industries – including agriculture, commercial fisheries and aquaculture – provide jobs and exports, and underpin a growing food industry and other agribusinesses. Western Australia’s fisheries also support a thriving recreational fishing sector and regional tourism.

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) works to protect the sustainability of natural resources and accelerate ongoing economic growth, job creation and regional development. An important part of their role is to support the growth of strong regional communities that are desirable places to live, work and invest.

We look forward to working with DPIRD and more broadly with the Government of Western Australia.
